The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced an extension of the REAL ID Act deadline that would affect those U.S. domestic air travelers with state driver's licenses not meeting REAL ID standards. With this extension, DHS has set an enforcement schedule and stated that residents from ANY U.S. state will be able to use their driver's license as an acceptable form of identification at TSA airport security checkpoints until Jan. 22, 2018.
